Grass Dancer

“Grass Dancer” was photographed using deliberate motion blur. This technique produces images that can be compared to those of the Impressionist Painters. The goal is to capture the light and movement around a subject, rather than the subject itself. The resulting image is more ethereal than literal.  Some other pictures from this “Tribal” series of …

It is possible to print “Girls in Blue,” in large or even very large format.  I am enjoying the fact that,  the maximum print size is constrained by the printer rather than the camera. …

Fall’s Red Carpet

I returned to this location so that I could capture this dramatic carpet of red leaves. The intense red color with complimentary green along with the a vanishing point created by the garden stairs help to make this an iconic garden shot. I often use back light to add to emphasis to garden pictures like …

Impressionist Photography Series

I am working on updating my Impressionist photography series.  These latest photos were taken near the Spirit Garden in South Surrey. The picture below is a different version of the same ornamental grass.  I use a slow shutter speed and intentional camera motion to create these Impressionist photographs.

Monochrome “Still Life” Series

I will be adding to this series over the winter.  The pictures explore the patterns and forms of dried seed heads found in the fall and winter garden.
